Doug the Builder for Gallagher Group
After the success of an Elmer I painted for Maidstone, I was asked to create a builder Elmer, I really enjoyed painting a realistic face and trunk. The denim jeans were great fun creating the texture to look realistic. I used fibre glass for the fist time to attach the builders hat to the sculpture. He is brought out at company events and lives at the head office.
Elmer for Demelza Children’s Hospice Charity
Gallagher Group kindly asked me to create another Elmer. The staff had arranged for some of the children to draw and paint some art. We decided to collaborate all the art to make scene. I think it worked really well, showing children holding hands with the slogan ‘All you need is love’. I created some texture to the painting for the children with poor eyesight.
Elmer for Bower Grove Special Education School
Gallagher Group arranged for me to create another Elmer for this lovely school. The classes have animal names as their groups and so I designed the hybrid animals playing football. On the other side of Elmer is a summer fayre scene with all the hybrid animals having fun and being together.
Spinning a Yarn for Heart of Kent Hospice
Spinning a Yarn was the flagship sculpture for the 2024 Art Trail for Shaun in the Heart of Kent. The idea was to convey a striking, colourful design that works on a small scale for social media and printed documents. The swirly, colourful design is based on balls of wool showing movement.
King Charles Coronation Benches for Historic Royal Palaces
Slade Primary School in Tonbridge and Alderwood Senior School in Aldershot were two fo the winning schools to design a bench for this very prestigious event. I was very priveliged to be asked by Wild In Art to paint both of their magnificent designs. The benches resided at The Tower of London for the summer and now live back at their respective schools.
Slade School shows flowers from all around the world for a ‘living bench’. The portrait of King Charles was a challenge to keep in child-like but also to resemble King Charles. I was also asked to run a workshop with the children – we created a wonderful board mural painting that hangs in the school.
Aldershot School’s design has a striking lion’s head wearing a crown. The back showing the natural world as a underwater sea scene. I was also asked to run a workshop with the children – we created a wonderful board mural painting that hangs in the school.

Paws on the Wharf – The Guide Dogs for the Blind Charity Art Trail
I was asked to paint one of the winning school designs for the trail, Ben Jonson Primary School is based locally to Canary Wharf and their design was very inspiring. They created small dog drawing with names in Braille. My job was to create the Braille in a larger format which was in relief so people could feel the names of the dogs. It was very successful helped of course by a great design.Photo Credit: Matt Crossick/PA wire
Baby Giraffe – Private Client
After the success of my Cambridge Giraffe sale, I was approached to paint a small giraffe for a private buyer. It is similar in design with different colours to appeal to the client. The children were excited to see the small animals and were looking forward to seeing the neon paints at night time. She now lives in the hallway next to plants.
Baby Elephant – Private Client
Through friends of friends I was commissioned to paint a bamboo graphic in blue as the client just loves elephants! She now resides in a conservatory and is well loved.
Dying to be Barbie Sculpture for Brentwood Art Trail
Dying to be Barbie was created for the Brentwood Art Trail 2019, I wanted to showcase my ability to craft a sculpture with a hollow interior. I can’t divulge the process but it is a lengthy process but resulting in an interesting effect. I wanted the sculpture to be beautiful but with a serious meaning. How far do we go for beauty? Many people go too far and end up with disfigured faces and bodies, even botched surgeries can end in death, along with eating disorders. The interior and the base of the sculpture show newspaper clippings of harrowing stories and images.
Gold Tiger
After show-casing my ‘Dying to be Barbie’ Sculpture for the Brentwood Art Trail, I was commissioned to create a tiger in the same style. It’s a pain-staking process but well-worth the effort. Made with plaster bandages and gold wax. The tiger resides in the client’s dining room, pride of place.
